Helpline

The Cruse Helpline is run by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by grief.

The helpline volunteers can give you space to talk about your feelings and how you’ve been coping. The volunteers are completely non-judgemental and won’t share what you’ve told them with anyone else, unless you are in danger.

Online Chat

The CruseChat service enables you to speak to a bereavement counsellor through a live chat service.  It is a free service and is available Monday to Friday 9am – 9pm.

Lullaby Trust

The Lullaby Trust offer support for anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.

Calls to the helpline are free from all landlines and most mobile phone networks.

The helpline is open:

  • Monday – Friday: 10am-5pm
  • Weekends and public holidays: 6pm–10pm

You can also talk to Lullaby Trust volunteers via their webchat on weekdays 10am-12pm.

Bereavement Advice Centre

Bereavement Advice Centre provides practical information and advice on the many issues and procedures that face us after the death of someone close.

Bereavement Support Network

When someone dies there are many practical matters to attend to and very few of us have to deal with these more than once or twice in our own lifetime. The Bereavement Support Network website has been created to help guide you through the stages of bereavement and hopefully offer some advice on what to do when dealing with the deceased’s estate and personal matters.

The Good Grief Trust

If you have been affected by a sudden bereavement and need support, advice and guidance, the Good Grief Trust can provide you with help.

National Bereavement Partnership

The National Bereavement Partnership provides a support helpline, counselling referral and befriending service for all those suffering from bereavement, grief, living loss, mental health issues, and those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Compassionate Friends

The Compassionate Friends is a national organisation providing support to bereaved parents and their families.

Calls to this Helpline are charged at the same rate as when calling a landline 01 or 02 number, whether making the call from a landline or a mobile.

Grief Chat

Grief chat is a safe space for grieving or bereaved people to be able to share their story, explore their feelings and be supported by a qualified bereavement counsellor. In addition to this, Grief Chat can help bereaved people to consider if they need additional support and where to get this from.

Using Grief Chat is free of charge and is open Monday-Friday, 9am to 9pm (UK time) to grieving or bereaved people. If they are not online, you can still send a message using the chat box and they will reply as soon as back online.
