Mood and Food

Duration: 8 sessions; run weekly; 90 mins per session

Food isn’t simply fuel – it serves many different roles. We can find that we get into the habit of using food to comfort or to distract ourselves from uncomfortable thoughts and feelings or as a way to cope with different challenges in life. Sometimes it can feel that we have no control over what, when and how we eat – and this can get in the way of weight management.

This group, led by a psychologist, takes a look at the complex relationship between food and emotion and provides some ways of managing thoughts and feelings differently, to give you more choice and control.

The focus is on emotion management in relation to food. If you require structure for making changes to your food, information about nutrition or improving movement then you may need to look at our other groups.
