Your COVID Vaccine

Primary Course

If you are aged 65+ or in an "at risk" group, please contact our Booking Hub to request an appointment. Primary Course appointments will be available throughout the Autumn Booster programme which runs from 11 September 2023 - 31 March 2024.
People aged 6 months+ with severe immunosuppression and at risk children aged 6months - 4years will require 2 doses, 8 weeks apart to complete their primary course.
All other people will now only be required to receive 1 dose to complete their primary course
 

Autumn Boosters

Autumn Boosters will be available from 11th September 2023 for;

  • People aged 6 months+ with severe immunosuppression
  • Residents of Care Homes for older Adults
  • People Aged 65+ by 31 March 2024
  • Clinically vulnerable aged 6 months+
  • Frontline Health and Social Care Workers and Care home staff
  • Individuals experiencing homelessness 
  • Household Contacts of immunosuppressed aged 12 years+
  • Carers aged 16+
  • Adult Prisoners

Please contact the Booking Hub using the contact details in your booking letter and they will be able to arrange an alternative time. 

Your booking letter also includes information about the re-booking service where you can book your own alternative appointment. You will need an NHS login to access this service, which can be requested here: How to set up NHS login

We encourage everyone to take up their invitation to our main vaccination centres if at all possible. This will be your quickest opportunity to receive the spring booster, and will help us to vaccinate as many people as possible as quickly as possible. 

Community transport organisations across the county can also provide help with travel to NHS appointments: Travelling to a Mass Vaccination Centre - Powys Teaching Health Board (nhs.wales) 

If you would like to travel together with family, friends and neighbours then please talk to our booking hub as we may be able to offer appointment times together:

  • Please remember that you should not attend for vaccination if you are currently unwell.
  • Also, COVID-19 spring boosters are only being offered to eligible individuals (people aged over 75, people aged 5 and over with severe immunosuppression, residents of care homes for older adults). Only family, friends and neighbours in these groups will be invited for a COVID-19 spring booster.

An appointment at our main vaccination centre is your quickest opportunity to receive the Autumn booster, and will help us to vaccinate as many people as possible as quickly as possible. 

If you cannot attend a main vaccination centre then please contact our booking hub to discuss the transport support available or to enquire about alternative vaccination clinics.

Some of our GP practices are offering COVID Vaccinations and we are also have clinics running in our community hospitals. Please contact the booking team to discuss your options.

Your district nursing team will talk to you about COVID-19 spring boosters. If you are clinically housebound and have received an invitation for a spring booster at a main vaccination clinic, please contact our booking team who will be able to advise you.
