Take you first step into the NHS as a healthcare cadet apprentice and earn while you learn

5 September 2025

This fantastic apprenticeship opportunity provides new entrants, aged 16+, with limited or no prior health care experience, to embark on a career at Powys Teaching Health Board and take their first step on their development journey to becoming a healthcare professional.

Our Cadets, will work under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals to deliver the highest standards of care to our patients, delivered with dignity, respect and compassion. This care will include assisting patients with their personal needs, such as washing, toileting, dressing and eating.

Full training will be provided ensuring cadets have the skills and knowledge to carry out well-defined routine clinical duties, like monitoring a patient’s health condition, including checking things like blood pressure, temperature, weight, comfort, and general wellbeing.

If you have a passion for helping to care for the residents of Powys and earn a wage whilst working towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification, then please consider applying.
