The Health Visiting Service aims to improve the quality of life for children, families, and communities across Powys. We provide expert advice, support and interventions by working in partnership with families to identify need and empower parents to make good decisions that positively affect their family’s future health.
Health Visitors offer a universal service to all families with children under the age of 5, which begins during the antenatal period. As a service we are guided by the ‘Healthy Child Wales Programme’ which sets out the planned contacts that families can expect from their Health Visiting service. These contacts allow us the opportunity to assess the health and wellbeing of both parents and their children. Health visitors offer evidence-based advice and support that will enhance your child’s health and developmental potential.
