electronic Prescribing and Medicines administration is set to transform the way in which secondary care is delivered to patients. This will be done by making digital the process of prescribing, processing and recording the administration of medicines.

What does this mean for patients?

The digital system will replace existing paper-based processes, including prescription & administration record charts, discharge summaries and prescription forms. This will help health care professionals to deliver care more effectively and spend more time with their patients.

At the start of 2023, Powys Teaching Health Board selected technology supplier, Better, to facilitate this change within the health board, with further updates to come.
