Assistant Psychologist
Meg joined the Powys Living Well Service in February 2024 as an Assistant Psychologist after completing her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology. Prior to this Meg was a qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) working for 5 years to support people at the highest risk of harm across hospital-, community-, and forensic settings.
Meg is excited to be working alongside a friendly and experienced multi-disciplinary team who use a holistic and bio-psycho-social approach to support those with long term conditions. She utilises a person-centred approach and enjoys working within the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower people towards values-based action. Meg is an advocate for trauma-informed care and has appreciated learning from the lived experience of the people we support. She is hoping to complete her doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and is eager to pursue research which investigates self-compassion as tool for navigating trauma.
Meg values creativity and endeavours to draw on this to foster resilience and confidence as an Assistant Psychologist within the service.
