Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

From 1 September 2024, routine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination will be offered across Powys to the following groups;

  • Older adults, as they turn 75 years old
  • Pregnant women, 28 weeks gestation (with the aim of protecting their newborn babies)

If you turned 75 years of age before 1st September 2024 and are under 80 years of age on the 31st August 2025, you will be offered a vaccination as part of a catch-up programme.

If you are eligible for a vaccination, you will be contacted by your GP Practice or the Powys Teaching Health Board’s Vaccination Service to offer you an appointment.

If you are pregnant, you will be offered a vaccination by your midwife.
