Strategic Equality Plan 2024-2028

At Powys Teaching Health Board our commitment to equality is not just a principle but a cornerstone of our mission. Nestled in the rural landscapes of mid Wales, our health board recognizes the unique needs of our communities. The Strategic Equality Plan stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to inclusivity, acknowledging the challenges posed by our rural setting and of navigating an increasingly challenging financial landscape.

Powys Teaching Health Board is committed to putting people at the centre of everything we do. Our vision is to create an organisational culture and environment that is accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Anti-Racist Action Plan 2022-24

In June 2022, the Welsh Government published its Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan, setting out Wales-wide objectives to incorporate anti-racist principles into the public sector’s services and employment practices.

Under the plan, public sector organisations like Powys Teaching Health Board are required to develop local Action Plans showing how they will work to achieve the various Wales-wide objectives locally over the timescales identified in the plan.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Annual Report 2021/22

Powys Teaching Health Board is committed to putting people at the centre of everything we do. Our vision is to create an organisational culture and environment that is accessible and inclusive for everyone. This includes our staff, those who receive care including their families and carers, as well as partners who work with us whether this is statutory organisations, third sector partners or our communities.

Strategic Equality Plan 2020-24

In Powys Teaching Health Board we have placed Equality at the heart of our planning and service delivery.

Fairness & Equality is one of the six core organisational values developed by our staff. Offering ‘Fair Access’ is one the core principles at the heart of our 10-year strategy for Health and Care in Powys

Our Strategic Equality (SEP) Plan 2020 – 2024 applies across all sections of Powys Teaching Health Board and to all of the services that we plan and deliver. We also take careful consideration of equality needs and issues with our decision making and have embedded Equalities into our approach to impact assessment.

Powys Teaching Health Board has a key role to play in mainstreaming Equalities in the services that we provide, in the communities that we serve and with the people that we employ. We will aim to achieve this by implementing our Strategic Equality Plan and continuing to place Equalities at the heart of what we do.
