In the Understanding Binge Eating programme, participants learn more about their relationship with food and begin to make sense of their eating patterns. The programme introduces helpful information about binge eating and explores how emotions, control, and habits can influence eating and wellbeing.
Each week, participants focus on small, practical steps to try at home. These include noticing triggers for binge eating, recording eating patterns, and building more regular and balanced eating habits.
The programme is designed to help individuals develop skills that work for them. With support from a practitioner over around six sessions, participants complete a workbook alongside the programme. This approach is evidence-based and recommended as a first-step treatment in NICE guidelines.
The overall aim is to help people feel more confident and in control of their eating, and to build a steadier, more compassionate relationship with food.
