The Executive Committee has been constituted by the Board and is the executive decision making committee of the organisation, chaired by the Chief Executive as Accountable Officer.
The Accountable Officer is responsible for the overall organisation, management and staffing of the Health Board and its arrangements related to quality and safety of care as well as matters of finance, together with any other aspect relevant to the conduct of the Health Board’s business in pursuance of the strategic directions set by the Health Board’s Board, and in accordance with its statutory responsibilities.
The Executive Committee is responsible for ensuring the effective operational co-ordination of all functions of the organisation, and thus supporting the Chief Executive to discharge the responsibilities delegated to the Accountable Officer.
