There are around 100,000 strokes in England, Scotland and Wales every year. Stroke is the fourth single leading cause of death in the UK and the single largest cause of complex disability.

New body will be the voice of the people of Wales on their health and social care.

A new and independent body that will strengthen the power and influence of people’s voices in shaping health and social care services across Wales has launched.

Llais replaces the work of Wales’s seven Community Health Councils which have supported the interests of people using NHS services for nearly half a century.

Consultants appointed to support Newtown Health and Wellbeing campus

Plans for the creation of a multi-agency health and wellbeing campus in the centre of Newtown have taken a significant step forward with the appointment of a Cardiff-based construction consultancy to support this important project being progressed jointly by Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board, through the North Powys Wellbeing Programme.
