GP Services in Rhayader

Powys Teaching Health Board is currently undertaking a contract tendering process for the delivery of General Medical Services in Rhayader.

There is no action that patients need to take, as during the process the Practice will continue to remain open, and following the contract tendering process the Practice will continue to remain open and patients will be able to access services as they currently do.

To ensure that patients are aware, and are reassured regarding the continuing service, Powys Teaching Health Board is sending the letter below to the household of every registered patient of Rhayader Medical Practice. We expect these letters to arrive during week beginning 3 March 2025.

Update on General Medical Services in Rhayader Medical Practice

I am writing to let you know that Powys Teaching Health Board is currently undertaking a contract tendering process for the delivery of General Medical Services in Rhayader. This process will take approximately three to four months to complete and during this time the Practice will continue to remain open.

You do not need to do anything as this letter is for information only. However, I felt it important to make you aware of this process.

I can reassure you that following the contract tendering process the Practice will continue to remain open. You will be able to access services as you currently do. As a patient you will notice very little change, if any, to the services available.

The health board is committed to the provision of high standards of medical care for the people of Rhayader and this is at the forefront of the tendering process.
