NHS 111 Wales is the free way to contact the NHS in Wales from landlines and mobile phones, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including GP out-of-hours).

The service aims to provide improved access and signposting to urgent and non-urgent care services, healthcare advice and treatment.

You can contact NHS 111 Wales by: 

  • Visiting www.111.wales.nhs.uk

  • Calling 111 from any landline or mobile (free of charge, even if you have no credit). For Urgent Mental Health Support – PRESS OPTION 2 

When to Use NHS 111 Wales:

You can use the service for a wide range of health concerns, including: 

  •  Feeling unwell and not sure what to do or where to go

  • Your GP surgery is closed, and you need advice or an emergency prescription

  • You need urgent mental health support

  • You have a minor illness like a toothache, earache, or rash

The NHS 111 Wales website provides a comprehensive range of self-help tools, including detailed information on illnesses and available services, all easily accessible via the virtual chatbot, AIBOT, if needed. 

This can save you time and help ensure you’re in the right place for the care you need. For example, you might be able to see a pharmacist within the hour instead of waiting days for a GP appointment.

If you need urgent mental health support, call 111 and press option 2. You’ll be connected to a mental health professional in your area. This free, 24/7 service is available to people of all ages across Wales.

NHS 111 Wales is available in both English and Welsh. The website also supports accessibility tools including:
