A statement from Powys Teaching Health Board

PTHB logo on a blue background

As an organisation that is proud to both serve and employ people of all ethnicities and faiths we have been appalled by the level of violence, racism and destruction we have seen over the last few days in various parts of the UK. Our thoughts are with all of those families affected by these recent tragedies.

The NHS has a proud history of embracing diversity, which has been a critical part of its success. Our diversity is what unites us and makes us a strong organisation.

As a Health Board our duty is to provide care and support to anyone who uses our services. In light of recent events nationally, we want to remind people that the Health Board does not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind towards our staff or service users.

We will always strive to ensure those people who use or deliver our services across Powys can do so in the safest possible environment. It is important we all continue to respect and support each other during these difficult times.

No one should have to live with the fear and anxiety that hate crime causes.

If you’ve been affected by recent events, the Wales Hate Support Centre can help.
