The Welsh Government’s digital inclusion initiative will host a free webinar introducing online mental health support through SilverCloud Wales.

The 90-minute session - designed by Digital Communities Wales (DCW) - is for stakeholders, third sector professionals and community connectors, or anyone who might be interested in using or signposting to SilverCloud.

The online platform offers clinically-proven support for managing mild-to-moderate symptoms of common mental health issues including anxiety, stress and low mood.

It’s free to use by anyone in Wales aged 16 or over without the need to see a GP.

DCW’s training provides an overview of SilverCloud and covers signing up for the service, choosing a programme and downloading the SilverCloud Health app.

There’s also general advice on online safety, creating an email account and filling in webforms.

DCW is committed to bridging digital divides by empowering people to benefit from being online.

Gaining confidence in online spaces opens access to a range of digital healthcare tools, including booking GP appointments, using health board websites, and using the NHS Wales app.

Fionnuala Clayton, Online CBT Service project lead, commented: “SilverCloud Wales is all about breaking down barriers to mental health support – it’s an on-demand and flexible intervention that anyone can do in the comfort of their own home.

“All you need to sign up is an email address, but we do understand that the digital world can be a barrier to some, which is why this DCW webinar is so welcomed. It shows that better wellbeing really is just a mouse click or a screen tap away.”

DCW’s webinar takes place on Wednesday September 3rd at 10am. A member of the SilverCloud Wales team will be on hand to answer any questions.
