• Improved dental facilities
• Improved patient access including main entrance
• Better kitchen and dining facilities
• £2.5m Welsh Government funding
We are delighted to confirm that Powys Teaching Health Board has secured a further £2.5m Welsh Government investment to continue improvements across the site. This will improve dental facilities, patient-facing areas, kitchen and dining.
This follows our previous phases of work which have seen upgrades to clinical spaces, new windows, roof repairs, significant improvements to backlog maintenance and improvements to visitor safety and access.
Construction will begin on site on in March 2026 and is due to be completed in August 2026.
We are working closely with stakeholders to minimise disruption as much as possible for patients and visitors and ensure that clinical services remain unaffected
However, there will be some much needed improvements to public areas including the main entrance. There may be times when we ask you to enter the hospital through a different entrance than normal. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
