Temporary car park closure at Machynlleth's hospital

The car park at Machynlleth’s Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital is to be temporarily closed on Monday (March 6) to allow for contractors to complete their upgrade of this facility.

Staff and patients are being asked to park elsewhere in the town during the three-week temporary closure, although limited facilities for blue badge holders will still be provided on the hospital site. We would ask that other visitors to the hospital use the main public car park in the town.

The work being carried out will mean a larger resurfaced car park with integrated electric vehicle charging points and new landscaping for the hospital site. This work is part of a £15m Welsh Government-funded redevelopment of the hospital which is due to open in the Spring.

Wayne Tannahill, Associate Director of Estates with Powys Teaching Health Board commented: “We recognise that this is going to cause a temporary inconvenience to our patients and staff but I would ask that you please bear with us over the next few weeks. When the car park is finished it will be a great improvement on our previous facility; a car park befitting the redeveloped hospital which is due to open in the Spring.”
