Carl said:

“I am very grateful to Hayley Thomas for agreeing to step in to the role of Chief Executive here at Powys Teaching Health Board on an interim basis. Many of you will know Hayley, her exceptional breadth and depth of experience, and the way in which she has exercised leadership in many executive areas to the benefit of this health board, the people of Powys and more widely across Wales.

“I am absolutely delighted for our Chief Executive, Carol Shillabeer. Her appointment to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is testament to her expertise, skills and experience, and reflects the confidence she inspires across the NHS and in Welsh Government for her leadership, care and compassion. I wish her every success in her interim role.”

Hayley Thomas was appointed as the health board’s Executive Director of Planning and Performance in June 2015. Since her appointment to the Board she has provided executive leadership for a wide range of portfolios including mental health & learning disabilities, community services, primary care, capital & estates, commissioning, performance, strategy and partnerships.
