The Board is recommended not to support changes to waiting times for care in England this spring

The Lead Nurse for Dementia for Powys Teaching Health Board has been presented with her British Empire Medal at a ceremony in Newtown.

Heather Wenban was presented with the honour – announced in His Majesty King Charles’ Birthday Honours in June 2024 – by the county’s Lord Lieutenant Mrs Tia Jones at a ceremony at Hope Church which was attended by friends, family and colleagues.

NHS Wales’ digital mental health service has launched a new mini-guide outlining support designed specifically for students. 

NHS Wales’ digital wellbeing service has teamed up with a pioneering clinic to help patients manage the mental health impacts of Lymphoedema and Lipalgia Syndrome.  

A  group of internationally educated nurses based in Newtown have been celebrating passing their OSCE exams.

The group of six all hail from  India and have been recruited by Powys Teaching Health Board to help reduce the reliance on agency nurses.

The X-ray unit at Welshpool’s hospital is due to re-open on Friday January 24^th with the units at Ystradgynlais and Llandrindod Wells re-opening a few weeks later.

All patients are advised to continue to attend appointments as normal, pending further discussions at a future Board meeting.
