International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

Powys Teaching Health Board is proud to be supporting International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) on 17 May.

We are committed to the safety of all of our patients and staff and have a zero tolerance to homophobia, biphobia or transphobia in any form.

However, discrimination is not always displayed aggressively or even intentionally. It is important that we don’t make assumptions about the people we interact with. Taking time to talk to people and find out about them goes a long way to improving understanding each other.

NHS Wales has this week also been celebrating NHS Equality week with a series of events for staff to help raise awareness of the many inequalities and difficulties facing those with protected characteristics. With IDAHOBIT falling at the end of the week, hospitals across Wales are displaying the Progress Pride flag to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
