We would like to thank the team at Danby’s pharmacy for their many years of service to the local community and wish them a happy retirement, and our thanks also to the team at Llanfyllin Group Practice for providing a prescription dispensing service from the beginning of January for residents of the Llanfyllin area in addition to the service already provided to their wider practice population.
We took immediate action by issuing a Supplementary Statement to our pharmaceutical needs assessment. This is the required process, in line with the NHS Pharmaceutical Wales Regulations, when a gap in pharmacy provision is identified. This invites applications from pharmaceutical providers to support the continued provision of NHS pharmaceutical services in the Llanfyllin area, and we look forward to a positive conclusion as soon as possible.
There are commercial sensitivities that must be taken into account when undertaking processes of this nature. We apologise that this does limit the information that we are able to share. It is really important that we do not compromise the contracting process as this could lead to delay.
