Update from Powys Teaching Health Board on Pharmacy Services in Llanfyllin

We fully recognise the disappointment in Llanfyllin following the decision by Danby’s Pharmacy to withdraw from their NHS Pharmaceutical Services Contract. 

Since we received their letter of notice in early September we have been working with stakeholders to identify a sustainable solution to this issue.

We have also taken immediate action by issuing a Supplementary Statement to our pharmaceutical needs assessment. This is the required process, in line with the NHS Pharmaceutical Wales Regulations, when a gap in pharmacy provision is identified. This invites applications from pharmaceutical providers to support the continued provision of NHS pharmaceutical services in the Llanfyllin area, and we look forward to a positive conclusion as soon as possible.
