A UK-wide research programme to improve care for people with heartburn, indigestion and acid reflux has launched in Wales. Adults aged 55–79 who experience regular symptoms are invited to take part.
Heartburn Health is a national research programme and bioresource that aims to improve understanding of common upper digestive symptoms and how they develop over time. Taking part involves completing a short online form about your health experiences, helping researchers shape future care and identify opportunities for further research.
In Wales, Heartburn Health is supported by Health and Care Research Wales, NHS Wales and Cancer Research UK.
Men aged 55–79 and women aged 65–79 who experience regular heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion - or who use medication to manage these symptoms - are eligible to take part.
How to take part
People in Wales may receive an NHS Wales text message with a secure sign-up link. If you do not wish to be invited to take part specifically in Heartburn Health, you can opt out by completing the Digital Health and Care Wales online form: Heartburn Health Programme Opt Out, or by calling 0808 281 4772, where a team member can complete the opt-out form for you.
Alternatively, eligible individuals can enrol directly via the Heartburn Health website.
