Official Notice of Application by Llanfyllin Group Practice to close the branch surgery in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant

As part of the Branch Review Process we will shortly be launching a formal period of engagement with patients and wider stakeholders, including Llais which is the statutory Citizen Voice Body in Wales to represent the voices and opinions of local people in respect of health and social care services.

Powys Teaching Health Board has received an application from Llanfyllin Group Practice to close their branch surgery in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

The application is being considered in accordance with the Health Board Branch Practice Review Process. This process ensures that branch closure applications are given conscientious consideration before decisions are made on the way forward.

As part of the Branch Review Process we will shortly be launching a formal period of engagement with patients and wider stakeholders, including Llais which is the statutory Citizen Voice Body in Wales to represent the voices and opinions of local people in respect of health and social care services.

This period of engagement will provide an opportunity to hear from patients and stakeholders about their concerns and hopes, to consider options and alternatives, and to understand the impact if the application to close Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant branch surgery is approved.

Following the engagement period, we will review the feedback we have heard. Any decision on the future of the branch surgery will take account of this feedback and will be made at a meeting in public of Powys Teaching Health Board.

We currently expect this period of engagement to begin later this summer. As part of the engagement period the health board will write to the households of patients registered with Llanfyllin Group Practice in the Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant area and to local stakeholders including Llais, Town & Community Councils, County Councillors, Members of the Senedd, Members of the UK Parliament, and local community & voluntary organisations.

When the engagement is launched, we will also share further information on our website at pthb.nhs.wales/lym and biap.gig.cymru/lym and with the local media.
