Taking care of yourself during grass fire season.

28/04/26

Warmer weather brings an increased risk of grass fires across our area.

Grass fire smoke can affect your breathing, irritate your skin and eyes, and cause chest pains as well as worsen existing conditions such as asthma.

Follow this advice on how to stay safe if where you live is affected by grass fire smoke.

🔺 Stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed

🔺 Travelling in areas affected by grass fire smoke? Keep windows and air vents closed, turn off air conditioning

🔺 If you must go outdoors when there is a grass fire, avoid or limit your time spent in areas affected by smoke or ash

If you are concerned about symptoms caused by grass fire smoke call NHS 111 Wales or visit the NHS 111 Wales website

NHS 111 Wales is available 24 hours a day, every day. You can call if you are feeling ill and unsure what to do. You can also access a wide range of health information on conditions and treatments.
