Key decisions on a new health and wellbeing hub in Newtown are set to be made in the coming days

The current plans are due to be considered by Powys County Council’s Health and Care Scrutiny Committee before going to the Powys County Council Cabinet and Powys Teaching Health Board for consideration on 16 December 2025.

Official opening of The Richardson Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing

Last week saw the official opening of the Richardson Centre for Mental health and Wellbeing in Llandrindod Wells. Named after a much-loved colleague who sadly passed away, the centre replaces the former ‘Hazels’ building in a modern, accessible setting.

Brecon Hospital welcomes International Nurses

We are very pleased to have welcomed our latest cohort of six internationally trained nurses to Brecon Hospital. Sheeja, Reshma, Sibi, Jayalekshmi, Abida and Ardra are all from India and moved to the UK earlier in the year. All six have settled into Brecon extremely well and are working on Y Bannau ward at the hospital.
